In an age of silicon, aluminum, and glass, it's easy to feel like the world is becoming colder and more inhumane.

Yet, to create is one of the most human things we can do. It's in our design.

Our most beloved items are not the ones that are pristine and perfect. They are marked by patina. Things that don't wear in and wear well have an artificial feel to them.

The Age of Agents is here. And we're faced with a choice. Do we become more like machines? Or do we find a way to embrace our humanity in new fresh ways?

Creativity is messy. It doesn't follow a recipe. Bursts of insight whisper to us, delicate and tender, seeking a place to settle. Yesterday's discard becomes today's solution. We muddle. We stumble. Yet, if we endure, that spark of imagination comes to form in front of us.

The creative act is deeply private and raucously social. We need tools that give us space to think and, when the time is right, give way for a chorus of perspectives.

It's also deeply embodied. We sketch, fidget, doodle, spread out, fold, collapse, caress, and throw. We push. We pull. We tweak. We step back. We lean in. It's the actions of our bodies in the world and on our environment that make sense of the world.

The pace of our world has never been faster. Things happen at the speed of light. And frankly it's a little overwhelming. It's hard to catch your breath in the tsunami of information we each face each day. With agents, this problem only gets worse — at least to start. Things that used to take days or months to build, now happening in seconds to the rhythm of a blinking "thinking…" There will be more articles, more images, more apps, more posts, more videos; more than we can fathom. More! Our tools were built for a quieter time and when more was required of us to make something.

Workroom exists to bring quiet to the noise and calm to the chaos. Used well, agents can help us with the tasks we've been ignoring and give us capacity that we didn't have before.

How exactly these tools look and feel is what we're on a journey to learn. The path will become clear as we walk it.
